BorsodChem is committed to supporting a healthy lifestyle and local communities, and as part of this, it has become the eponymous sponsor of one of the most popular sporting events in Eastern Hungary, the Tour de Tisza-tó event. Participants can participate in three different distances in the program, which will be held on May 10, 2025: in addition to the 100 km and 65 km challenges, there is also the opportunity to participate in an easier 28 km tour - so anyone, regardless of age and fitness level, who would like to experience the magic of community sports in one of the most beautiful places in Hungary can feel free to join.
The Company has signed a three-year cooperation agreement, under which it will support the BorsodChem Tour de Tisza-tó event as the title sponsor starting this year. The support fits into the company's social responsibility strategy, one of the key elements of which is the promotion of sports and a health-conscious lifestyle.

“Supporting local communities and enriching the cultural life of surrounding settlements is of utmost importance to BorsodChem, whether it is local initiatives or value-creating programs in more distant regions. We believe that supporting a healthy lifestyle and physical activity is a shared value that we represent both inside and outside our company. We are therefore proud to stand with the Tour de Tisza-tó, thereby promoting the love of sport and nature.” – he said Laszlo Kruppa, CEO of BorsodChem regarding the signing of the grant.
The company places great emphasis on preserving the health of its employees, which it supports with numerous initiatives, including free private healthcare services and the provision of 15 specialist appointments at the on-site “Mini-hospital”. By organizing the leisure “challenge program series”, they would like to draw attention to a health-conscious attitude and an active lifestyle. In connection with this, they organize a special Health Month for employees, and provide them with free sports opportunities within the company and the city, but also at some national community sports events – such as the BorsodChem Tour de Tisza-tó event in May.

“The Tour de Tisza-tó, which has been held since 2008, is one of the oldest mass cycling events for amateurs,” he said. Arpad Kocsis "In addition, when the lake tour is held in May, this wonderful natural environment welcomes cyclists in its full spring, green splendor."
The location of the tour, Lake Tisza, is the second largest lake in Hungary, which attracts nature lovers and athletes with its unique natural treasures and rich wildlife. The lake – formerly known as the Kiskörei Reservoir – was created in 1973 by damming the Tisza River to serve irrigation, flood protection and electricity generation purposes. Over the past 50 years, it has become a wildlife haven, home to millions of birds and numerous fish species, and is now part of the Hortobágy National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
